Seagulls can't sing

During the spring of 2011, I wrote, produced, rehearsed and

performed a musical monologue called Seagulls can't sing. Now I've performed it 25 times, all around Sweden. It suits as lunch theatre or afterwork, for teenagers and adults!

Who decides what's normal?

Is what we see on stage always what we expect to see?

Or is it what's different, that makes us listen?

This is Kajsa's own story about fighting the surrounding's expectations of what an actor is supposed to be and sound like. How a different voice has to work a thousand times harder to prove its strength and capability than a normal voice needs to.

The audience will join a playful and funny ride and has to be ready to be thrown between Kajsa's hope and despair, self-confidence and self-criticism through different genres and music styles. Kajsa will definitely sing her favourite songs from the musical Cabaret, even though she can't sing. Or can she?
